Head of Accounting – Retail – Hybrid Model

The Consultancy Group has partnered exclusively with an International Retail / Consumer business based in Central London who are looking to recruit a Head of Accounting. As Head of Accounting, this role will report to the Finance Director and will lead the Accounting and Reporting for their largest global territory. They will lead a team of skilled professionals to ensure accurate financial reporting whilst providing strategic input to the Senior Leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in accounting and finance.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure the accurate and timely completion of financial processes.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data and cash flow analysis.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to provide strategic financial insights and contribute to decision-making processes.
• Manage relationships with internal and external auditors, tax authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.

Qualifications:

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
• Proven experience in a senior accounting or finance role, with a track record of successful leadership.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in the retail industry is highly desirable.
