Role Overview
The Consultancy Group are partnered with a Global, FTSE listed Tech business based in Central London who are looking to recruit a Director of Commercial Finance within the Marketing function. As the Director of Commercial Finance, you will establish solid commercial relationships with marketing leaders to drive and monitor performance. It is an integral part of the Finance Business Partnering team, offering vital support to the Marketing function, and providing high visibility to senior stakeholders. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key senior stakeholders is crucial. This role will report into the VP of Commercial Finance and oversee two Qualified Finance Analysts.
Key Responsibilities and Decision Ownership:

  • Cultivate trust and act as a valued business partner by fostering solid relationships with function leaders and their teams.
  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and three-year plans to enhance function predictability.
  • Take a proactive role in optimizing P&L performance, exercising control over expenditures, and identifying and managing budget-related risks and opportunities.
  • Offer proactive, high-quality financial analysis and guidance to support commercial decision-making.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of financial processes and ensure compliance with relevant financial standards and best practices.
  • Elevate the finance team’s capabilities through effective management and coaching as a senior finance leader, striving for a high-performing finance function.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Familiarity with providing business partnering support to a Marketing function and Marketing leaders
  • Proficiency in both verbal and written communication, with the ability to distill complex financial information for presentation to senior stakeholders.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and consistently produces high-quality deliverables within tight deadlines.
  • Rapidly builds strong relationships with stakeholders, becoming a trusted and credible strategic partner who provides coaching, challenges assumptions, and influences business leaders.
  • Ambitious, proactive, solution-focused, with acute attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commercial awareness and a proven ability to identify and drive forward strategic initiatives.


  • Expertise in financial modelling (strong Excel skills required) and some experience in investment appraisal.
