He began his career in Data Analytics recruitment before joining The Consultancy Group in 2018, where he has since specialised in Accountancy and Finance. Charlie excels in placing both newly qualified and senior finance professionals in SMEs and FTSE-listed companies, primarily within the Media, Technology, Retail, and Business Services sectors.
The Consultancy Group are working with a high growth, fast paced Tech business based in Central London. As Group Financial Controller, you’ll play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health of the business. You’ll manage day-to-day financial operations, lead the annual group audit, monitor global cash flow, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. What You’ll Do Manage and support a team of three (two Senior Management Accountants and a Finance Assistant), overseeing workloads, development, and performance. Lead the Group’s annual audit, including the soft close (Jan–Mar), minimizing post-year-end adjustments, and coordinating deliverables across departments. Review and ensure accuracy of monthly and quarterly management accounts and consolidated financial statements. Drive financial insight and performance analysis in collaboration with the FP&A team. Partner with Accounts Payable, Receivable, Tax, Payroll, and other teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of month-end reporting. Ensure compliance with the group’s platform capitalisation policy, working closely with Product, Engineering, and Data teams. Prepare financial reports for the Board and Executive team. About you ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 5 years PQE in a similar role. Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly FRS 102. Proven experience leading audits and preparing consolidated financial statements. Advanced Excel skills.
